DAY 1: Paro (2250m)
Arrival At Paro
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you’ll be greeted by breathtaking mountain views that set the tone for your Bhutanese adventure. After clearing customs and collecting your luggage, meet your local guide and arranged transportation. Your journey begins with a visit to Rinpung Dzong, a grand fortress-monastery just 15 minutes away. Here, you’ll marvel at intricate woodwork and murals depicting the life of Buddha. Take a peaceful stroll across the traditional wooden bridge, Nyamai Zam, with its picturesque views of the river and valley below.
Next, make your way up to the National Museum of Bhutan, known as Ta Dzong, located just above Rinpung Dzong. The museum’s rich collection of art, artifacts, and natural history offers a glimpse into Bhutan’s deep-rooted culture and traditions, providing context for the experiences
awaiting you on your journey. Afterward, enjoy a traditional Bhutanese lunch in Paro town, savoring dishes like *ema datshi* (chili cheese stew), “phaksha paa” (pork with red chilies), and Bhutanese red rice, along with a comforting cup of butter tea.
In the afternoon, visit the sacred Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, dating back to the 7th century. As you walk around the temple grounds, spinning prayer wheels in a serene setting, you’ll feel the spiritual energy that surrounds this sacred place. From there, venture to the historic Drukgyel Dzong ruins, a 20-minute drive away. This 17th-century fortress, partially in ruins, offers majestic views of Mount Jomolhari, making it a memorable and scenic highlight.
Complete your day with some time in Paro town, where you can browse for unique handicrafts, colorful prayer flags, and traditional Bhutanese textiles. DAY 2: Tiger’s Nest hike in Paro
Start your day with an early breakfast at your hotel before setting off for a scenic 25–30-minute drive to the base of the Taktsang Monastery trail. With crisp mountain air and the soft glow of morning light, it’s the perfect time to embark on the unforgettable hike to Bhutan’s iconicTiger’s Nest.
The trek takes 2 to 3 hours along a steep but well-maintained trail. As you ascend, you’ll pass through lush pine forests, and colorful prayer flags fluttering in the breeze create an atmosphere of serenity. Midway, you’ll reach the popular Taktsang Cafeteria, where you can stop for a warm cup of tea or coffee. From here, you’re rewarded with breathtaking views of the monastery, seemingly suspended on the edge of a cliff.
After a refreshing break, continue on the final leg of the journey. This last stretch is a series of stone steps leading up to Taktsang Monastery itself. Upon arrival, you’re greeted by a sight unlike any other—a sacred marvel clinging to a cliffside, 3100 meters above the sea level. Inside, explore the monastery’s ancient temples and shrines, where the air is filled with the scent of incense, the hum of chanting monks, and a profound sense of spirituality. According to legend, Guru Padmasambhava meditated here in the 8th century after flying to the site on the
back of a tigress, adding an aura of mysticism to the monastery.
When you’re ready to leave, begin your descent back down the trail, perhaps stopping again at the halfway point for a lunch break with stunning valley views. The walk back to the base offers a final chance to take in the beautiful scenery of Paro Valley. Back in Paro, spend your evening at a relaxed pace, exploring the town’s shops, cozy cafés, and local eateries. DAY 3: TREK DAY 1 WALK FROM DAMCHANA (2880M) to JANGCHU LAKHA (3780M)
The first day of the Druk Path Trek begins at Damchana in Paro, situated at an altitude of 2,600 meters above sea level. The trail starts with a gradual but steady ascent towards Jela Dzong, an ancient fortress perched majestically on a ridge overlooking the Paro Valley. This fortress, rich in history and significance, provides an excellent first stop on the trek and serves as a perfect spot for a well-deserved lunch break.
After resting and enjoying the panoramic views from Jela Dzong, the trek continues with a further climb toward the day’s destination—Jangchu Lhakha. As you ascend, you will traverse through a stunning alpine forest, where the landscape transforms into a natural wonderland of towering hemlocks, rhododendrons in vibrant bloom, and aromatic juniper trees. The peaceful surroundings, combined with the fresh mountain air, create a perfect environment for immersing yourself in Bhutan’s pristine wilderness.

Here, you will spend the night in luxurious tents, surrounded by the tranquility of nature. As night falls, you will rest under a canopy of stars, with the crisp mountain air offering the perfect close to your first day on the Druk Path Trek. DAY 4: TREK DAY 2: JANGCHU LHAKHA (3780m) JIGME LANGTSO (3880m)

After a hearty breakfast to fuel your body, you’ll set out on the trail leading to Jigme Langtso, a breathtaking glacier lake nestled in the highlands. As you climb higher, panoramic views of the Thimphu and Paro Valleys unfold before you, followed by the awe-inspiring sight of Mount Jhomolhari, Bhutan’s second-highest peak, and the towering Mount Jichu Drake. Their snowcapped summits rise majestically against the sky, a

DAY 5:TREK DAY 3: JIGME LANGTSO (3880M)- THUJIDRA (3900M)
Today marks an exciting and challenging Day 3 of your trek from Jigme Langtso to Thujidra, where you will be ascending to the highest elevation of the entire journey: Labana Pass, which stands at an impressive 4,250 meters above sea level. This is going to be a day filled with both physical exertion and awe-inspiring natural beauty as you traverse some of the most breathtaking landscapes Bhutan has to offer.
The adventure begins with a steep and steady climb to Ja Nye Tsho, another stunning glacier lake nestled in the mountains. As you approach this serene body of water, you’ll have a unique opportunity to look back at the path you’ve been trekking over the last two days, with the valleys and ridgelines stretching out behind you. The sight offers a sense of triumph as well as a deeper connection to the journey itself. Ja Nye Tsho’s tranquil waters and the surrounding rugged landscape make it a perfect place to pause and take in the splendor of Bhutan’s highlands.
Once you’ve crossed the lake, the trail continues upward, winding through rolling hills and craggy paths, gradually leading you to the majestic Simkota Lake. The high-altitude air may be thin, but the scenery will take your breath away. This spot is ideal for a relaxing picnic lunch, where you can rest your legs, refuel, and soak in the wonders of the highland environment. After lunch, the trek resumes with anticipation building as you approach Labana Pass, the highest point of your entire journey. With your final descent, you arrive at the base of Phajoding, feeling a mix of joy, pride, and perhaps a touch of nostalgia as the trek concludes. DAY 7: PUNAKHA VALLEY

lush landscape and the gentle flow of the Mochu River below.
Next, explore the awe-inspiring Punakha Dzong, a masterpiece of Bhutanese architecture and a symbol of the nation’s rich heritage. Nestled at the confluence of two rivers, the Dzong holds a profound historical legacy, marking the unification of Bhutan in the seventeenth century and the rise of the monarchy in the nineteenth. After a hearty breakfast, prepare for an exciting journey to Thimphu, Bhutan’s vibrant capital and largest city. The drive begins with a scenic ascent to Dochula Pass, situated at an altitude of 3,000 meters (9,843 feet) above sea level. Here, you’ll be greeted by stunning panoramic views
of the Eastern Himalayas, especially on clear days when the snow-capped peaks shine majestically. The pass is also adorned with 108 chortens, known as Druk Wangyal Chortens, built in honor of the brave soldiers who lost their lives in a 2003 military operation. As you descend from Dochula Pass, the landscape transitions into the lush valley of Thimphu, where you’ll witness the growing development and modernity of Bhutan’s capital. Upon arrival, savor a delightful lunch at a local restaurant, featuring Bhutanese cuisine that highlights the
country’s unique flavors.
After lunch, your exploration begins at Buddha Point, home to one of the largest sitting statues of Buddha in the world. This magnificent statue, known as the Buddha Dordenma, towers at 51.5 meters (169 feet) and offers breathtaking views of Thimphu city and the surrounding hills.
As you stand in the presence of this serene figure, take a moment to soak in the peaceful atmosphere and reflect on Bhutan’s rich spiritual heritage. Next, visit the National Textile Museum, a testament to Bhutan’s intricate textile traditions.
